She killed her husband in an instant by firing multiple shots at him without any remorse, hitting him in the back of the head and several times in the back, putting an end to his life.
However, that was not the end of the nightmare. Sungnam’s outburst of violence extended to the couple’s two kids, who were 12 and 14 years old at the time.
After she had killed her husband, she shifted her focus to the girls in a manner that gave the impression of being cold and planned.
As Sungnam and her daughters climbed the stairs to their bedroom, the eldest of the two girls was coldly murdered by Sungnam before she turned her attention to the youngest of the two.
The younger daughter, who was terrified and desperate, bravely made her way out of the room and contacted 911 in an attempt to get aid. At the same time that the young girl was pleading for help, the dispatcher could hear the sounds of gunfire.
During the course of the shooting, first responders hurried to the area, where they found a terrifying scene already unfolding.
Both of the young women were discovered suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, and Sungnam had also shot herself in the chest in another room, causing those wounds to be self-inflicted.
In the wake of the tragedy, the case also raised doubts about her mental health. Her defense attorney argued that she was mentally unable to stand trial because of the circumstances surrounding the case.
The surviving daughters of John Lisowski moved to the East Coast to be with their father’s side of the family while the rest of the community was dealing with the grief of losing John Lisowski and the senselessness of the violence that disrupted their holiday celebrations.
